Kalamunda outgunned the Kwinana Titans at Wellard Oval on Saturday in their Round 4 Fuel to Go & Play Premiership clash scoring nine tries to maintain their impressive return to the top flight.

Winger Tommy Etchells grabbed two for the Dogs with further tries coming from Sean Toi (2), full back Robbie Jones, winger Steve Bradley, Ceejay Patelesio, Soni Langi and centre Dyshan Simpson.

The Dogs controlled much of the game, which was scrappy at times, but played in good spirits, according to coach Duane Gwiazdzinski.

“We could have scored more,” he admitted. “We let ourselves down at times, but we got the points.

“I was a little frustrated how we played, we didn’t protect our goal line enough which could have cost us as it was a very good effort from the Titans.”

Halfback Soni Langi was again the architect of the win setting up several tries and scoring himself as the Dogs made it back-to-back wins.

Centre Reagan Howley was their best on ground , “he put in big effort,” Gwiazdzinski said, with Sean Tai  taking two points in their 3-2-1 and Langi the one.

“Reagan really stepped, as did Sean and Soni was there again, controlling our game.”

For Titans Coach Lewis Samuels it was a disappointing day. “They were always one try ahead of us for a lot of the game, then they scored three at the end as we tired,” he said.

Samuels tried different combinations on both edges as he had players away working. “But too many errors cost us.”

Forward Ben Russell continued his impressive form with another try. “He’s our top scorer and he’s a front rower,” Samuels added.

Dennis Marsters grabbed a double and Leighay-Jade Tauranga crossed but their comeback was too late.

“We just failed to execute in the back-end of the game, but we are learning every week,” Samuels said.
