South Perth v Fremantle: #WALionsRoosters

5 rounds to go! If South Perth want a top 2 finish and a second chance come finals time they must win this game. A loss here will see them 6 points away from the top 2 teams as well as sending them tumbling down to 4th spot and at risk of missing the finals all together. For the chooks a win all but secures a top 2 spot while a loss could see the minor premiership slip from their grasp. Both teams are wounded, with Taiapa Graham joining Bjorn Crotty and Jarrod Thompson unavailable, while South Perth’s changeroom looks like the tomb of Tutankhamun, as half the team are held together by strapping tape and bandages. Resilience will be tested, but with so much to play for neither team can afford to rest players

Joondalup v North Beach: #WAGiantsSeaeagles

2 weeks ago North Beach had their season on the line against the top of the table Roosters. This Saturday they will start favourites to knock off the Giants and move back into the top 4. Joondalup have done it tough the last 3 weeks. It was a mammoth second half defensive effort that earned them the win against South Perth. Then they had to demonstrate mental toughness to come from behind save a draw in a game where they were the better team for much of the match. The fatigue of two gruelling games began to show last week against Fremantle. They weren’t embarrassed, but never looked like winning. Meanwhile North Beach should be relatively refreshed after a supremely comfortable win over Kalamunda. There is plenty to play for and expect fireworks as two of the comps best packs clash.

Kalamunda v Rockingham: #WABulldogsSharks

In the 3 previous clashes between these two teams Rockingham has run in 282 points to 6 so a Bulldogs win is unlikely, however after back to back games where they have conceded over 100 points the proud Kalamunda club will be determined to prevent the Sharks from piling on 3 figures. The blue and whites will give all they’ve got to give, but with the Sharks angling for a rare minor premierships they shouldn’t expect any mercy to be shown.
