Joondalup caused the upset of the season, stunning South Perth 38-22 at Admiral Reserve yesterday.
The previously unbeaten Lions conceded four tries within 11 minutes of the second half and never recovered.
Both sides flirted with the lead at different stages of the game, making for a truly bizarre afternoon of rugby league.
After racing to an early 10-0 lead, the Giants lost their composure, with four handling errors crippling their play.
Jon Phipps led the Lions fight back, involving himself in several tries.
By half time, the Lions led 18-10 and looked to surge into the distance.
One wonders what both teams were told at the break.
Superbly led by Macey Howarth, the Giants stormed home, producing a magical inhibition brand of attacking play.
The question is, where has this been all season?
Joondalup will host Willagee next Saturday, while South Perth will travel to Kalamunda.
