For only the fifth time, there were two recipients of the prestigious Ken Allen Medal award with South Perth Lions forward Daniel Green and North Beach Sea Eagles halfback Jeremy Wallace etching their names in history – taking out the 2019 honour.

The duo, both first-time winners of the award, polled the highest across the 16-round season with 14 votes to be crowned the best players in the 2019 WA Smarter Than Smoking Premiership competition.

For Wallace, the honour was his second of the evening after also taking out the Premiership’s top try scorer with 17 tries.

The darting halfback scored multiple tries in six of his 16 games in 2019, including four against the Rockingham Sharks in Round 4 and three against the Willagee Bears in Round 13.

Green, meanwhile, is the workhorse of the Lions side, and as player-coach, took on a new role this season.

The rampaging forward played in 15 of his side’s 16 games, scoring a pair of tries.

From all of us here at NRL WA, we would like to congratulate both Daniel and Jeremy for winning the 2019 Ken Allen Medal award.
