Ken Allen Awards Dinner

As the 2013 WARL Cash Converters Premiership comes to a close, some of the leagues best performers are staking their claim to Western Australian Rugby League’s ultimate individual honour – the Ken Allen Medal.

Rhys Peakman, Kieran Timothy, Joss Boyton, Teauran Sheehan and Ben Taylor were all leading the way before the voting went silent this year but as last year’s winner Samson Graham showed, any player can storm home and claim Western Australian Rugby League’s most prestigious award.

Rhys Peakman in particular has had the strongest season thus far, and coming back from a calf injury has a great chance to capitalize on some of his strong performances so far for the Willagee Bears.

Kieran Timothy and Joss Boyton however are both hot on his heels with the players both racking up 11 and 13 tries respectively so far this season and wowing fans with their scoring prowess.

But all of these players will have to contend with two big boys from the north in the form of Taurean Sheehan and Ben Taylor who have both made strong claims for the prize in 2013.

Sheehan in particular led the Perth Kiwis to a dominant 46-10 showing in the ANZAC challenge earlier this year, and has continued his good form into the season proper.
