Kani ‘King’ Solomon inspired North Beach to a 26-12 victory over Willagee at Charles Riley Reserve.
The Bears dominated every aspect of the match throughout, but couldn’t land the killer blow on the scoreboard.
Beach were sluggish for three quarters of the match, unable to wear down the resilient Bears defence.
With Jarek Goebel and Jordan Peirera pulling the strings, it looked like the visitors would record a famous victory.
Solomon had other ideas.
Taking control in the final five minutes, Solomon inspired three successive Beach tries, which sealed the win for the home side.
North Beach has the bye next week, while Willagee face a tricky home fixture against Rockingham.
