Pilbara Representative Opportunity

Pilbara TrialThree aspiring Rugby League Players from the Pilbara are in Perth to trial for the West Coast Pirates SG Ball team. Thanks to Matt Toohey from ISS Facility Services for their generosity in sponsoring the players to come down to Perth for the weekend to show the Pirates coaching staff what the Pilbara boys are made of. Troy Heta-Clarke, Broderick Cowen and Isaiah Chase will take the field on Saturday morning at 10am at Curtin stadium in a bid to be a part of the Pirates squad that participate in the NSW Rugby League SG Ball Cup competition.

The guys chatted to nrlwa.com.au today as they arrived into Perth.

Troy was delighted “I think this is the first opportunity like this for Pilbara players, we’re very excited”.

Broderick is looking forward to chancing his arm against the Perth based players “It’s great to come to Perth and give it a go in the SG Ball trials”.

Isaiah was extremely thankful to be here “Thanks to Matt from ISS for giving us this great opportunity”.

ISSThere are 43 players still in the hunt for a spot in the 2014/15 squad and no one will leave anything on the paddock tomorrow.

This is a great experience for the boys to be in Perth and be a part of this trial, even though people may live away from Perth, there are still opportunities to trial for the WA based teams. We hope to have some Pilbara players trial for the State teams again in 2015. Thank you to the Pilbara RL and everyone involved in looking after the guys while they are in Perth.

Good luck to all players participating in the trials tomorrow.
