Pirates Academy defeat CSS in a Nail Biter

The annual West Coast Pirates Academy v Combined Specialist Schools match was played last night at Curtin University.

It was a very physical 1st half being led by the CSS, great aggression in defence which caused errors in the Academy attack. CSS went into the break ahead 16-12.

A thrilling second half comeback by the Academy, there was only two points in it until the last 8 minutes. In front of a large crowd, the Combined Specialist Schools showed a lot of heart to make it a very nervous final 3 minutes.

As the full time siren sounded, the West Coast Pirates held onto a four point lead over the Combined Specialist Schools 28-24.

A terrific match, all players and staff should be proud of themselves.
