Mal Meninga Cup

Leevai Sutton started on the wing, helping the South Logan U18’s to an 18-16 Grand Final win over Norths Devils.

Sutton, a former Rockingham Sharks junior, had a standout season, scoring six tries in nine games as the Magpies took out the crown.

Intrust Super Cup

Jordan Pereira backed up his four-try display a fortnight ago, scoring a double for the St George Illawarra Dragons against the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs over the weekend.

The former Willagee Bears’ try helped the Dragons to a 21-20 Round 10 win, and will again line up on the wing against the New Zealand Warriors.

Super League/English Championship

Despite Cory Paterson’s Toronto Wolfpack taking a 10-0 lead, Bryson Goodwin got the last laugh as his Warrington Wolves flexed their Super League muscles to claim a 66-10 Challenge Cup win over the weekend.

Goodwin kicked nine goals in the win to finish with 18 points.

Adam Quinlan started at fullback, but couldn’t prevent Hull KR crashing out of the Challenge Cup with a 28-10 loss to the Wigan Warriors in Round 6.

Kalyn Ponga led the Newcastle Knights with 156 metres run in a 29-18 loss to the Manly Sea Eagles last weekend.

The Port-Hedland product will again take his spot at the back for Newcastle against the Gold Coast Titans and will be after a big display with State of Origin teams to be announced in 10 days.
