Smarter Than Smoking Premiership – RD 18 – RESPECT THE REFEREE ROUND

Fremantle v South Perth at Ken Allen Field
North Beach v Willagee at Charles Riley Reserve
Kalamunda v Rockingham at Pioneer Park

STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT

Fremantle may never have a better opportunity to knock off South Perth this season.

The Roosters can place further pressure on North Beach in second place, by continuing their rich vein of form and assistance with other results.

‘Barney’ Nixon must be scratching his head at how his men lost to Willagee last week.

The Lions have dropped a few matches against mid-table opposition since the midseason break, despite dominating North Beach and Fremantle.

Both sides would view victory in this match as an excellent lead in for finals football.

BEACH SUNSHINE FOR TOP FOUR BATTLE

North Beach and Willagee clash at Charles Riley Reserve on Saturday, with many questions still unanswered about both sides.

The Bears shone at South Perth last week and all but ensured finals football.

Despite the impressive showing, they have typically struggled to match up well against Beach.

Beach toiled in the ruck against Joondalup last week, but their superior fitness proved the difference.

Both sides need to play the ball and not let emotions get the better of them.

When these sides last met in June, Beach ran out 40-4 winners.

PIONEER PRIMED FOR BLUE COLLAR BATTLE

Both Kalamunda and Rockingham should provide fireworks at Pioneer Park on Saturday.

Despite both sides not playing finals football, both teams can still find out plenty about their current squads.

Pioneer Park is one of the toughest venues to play at, with opposition sides always facing a determined Bulldogs side.

The Sharks ended Joondalup’s season last week and would like nothing better then to continue their recent away form.

Look for Vincent Silulu to be the difference in this one.
