Back To Back Champions

Southern Pride used all of their senior grade knowledge and class to get out in front and hold off a hard finishing Northern Fusion side. Captain Gethin Thomas, who along with centre partner Nicholas Riggs, both debuted in the Smarter Than Smoking Premiership this season, were a class above their opponents, scoring 20 of the 28 points for the Pride.

The Pride, led around by halfback Luke David Wells-Talamaivao, were simply too clinical when taking their chances compared to the Fusion, who had plenty of chances. For the Fusion, Kobi Aiesi tried his hardest to spark his side, scoring a great try and providing some clinical crisp passing, but it was all in vein. Unfortunately when attacking the line, white line fever got the better of the Fusion side, with plenty of wasted opportunities.

Trent Therkelsen was the pick of the players from the Academy coaches watching the game, running brilliantly from hooker and getting through plenty of work.

Congratulations Southern Pride defeating Northern Fusion today 28 – 14 to wrap up the 2020 John Moore Shield at the NRL WA Training & Education Centre, Thomas Oval Medina on Saturday
