Ryan Gundry To Coach West Coast Pirates SG Ball

We would like to congratulate Ryan Gundry on his appointment as Head Coach of the West Coast Pirates U18’s to participate NSW SG Ball Competition.

Ryan has had a long and distinguished playing career starting right here in WA at the North Beach Sea Eagles as a junior before playing for the Western Reds Under 19’s. Gundry was then signed by the Melbourne Storm as part of their inaugural First Grade squad in 1998.

Ryan went on to play 181 games in the QLD Cup for Brisbane Norths and as Club Captain at the Burleigh Bears. During his decorated career in the QLD Cup, Ryan was rewarded with being named in the Queensland Cup Team of the Decade after the competitions first 10 years.

Ryan returned to WA to finish off his career with a Grand Final appearance with the North Beach Sea Eagles before turning his hand to coaching. Since then he has shown tremendous success as the North Beach First Grade Coach with the past two consecutive premierships to his name, and they are right in the hunt for third consecutive Premiership in 2014.

We are excited and confident about what the future holds for the West Coast Pirates under Ryan and his staff’s guidance.

We wish Ryan and his team all the very best for season 2015.
