Schools

NRL WA offers schools a variety of programs and events for all abilities and year levels. A brief outline of our popular programs can be seen below.

High School Competitions
Our High School Competitions range from one-day events, to fortnightly competitions, for schools and students to compete. For our one-day events, they are split into regional areas – with schools competing against other schools from their region (North / South) and are 9-a-side. We offer both Male & Female, Tag and Tackle Gala Days, for schools who want an introduction into the sport of Rugby League. Our Regular High School Competitions are played over a home & away format, with schools playing 13-a-side Rugby League, leading into a finals series. All school competitions and events are officiated, delivered and administered by our NRL Game Development Team.

Primary School Competitions
Primary Schools can take part in both Tag and Tackle Gala Days, throughout the year, at various locations. The majority of our Primary School Tag Events are delivered in partnership with our school associations. All of our Tackle Gala Days are delivered, officiated and administered by our NRL Game Development Team, with introductory sessions available to teach students the skills and techniques required.

Sporting Schools
NRL is partnered with Sporting Schools, an Australian Government initiative, to provide free programs to students and their families. This is in an effort to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life. NRL provides targeted programs for students of all ability levels in Preschool through to Secondary School.

League Stars
League Stars provides the perfect introduction to Rugby League for boys and girls in a safe and inclusive environment. Participants receive a personalised pack and participate in before or after school sessions, focusing on fundamental movement skills and having a blast with friends.
