Sea Eagles Soar to the Premiership

grandfinal

The North Beach Sea Eagles have gone back-to-back premiers after defeating the Fremantle Roosters 16-8 in front of a parochial home crowd in the wet.

Fremantle took first blood after a silly penalty right in front of the sticks was put away by kicker Ash Turner.

However the wings were again a weakness for the home side as North Beach unleashed a double salvo in the form of tries from Kieran Tarrant and winger Dustin Hume who ran the length of the field following a linebreak.

Halftime brought respite for the home side as they looked to regroup with the score at 8-2 and looked a different unit in the second half.

Spearheaded by five eighth Josh Essex, some inspiring passing play found Kieron Timothy who crossed with ease.

A forced penalty just ten minutes later converted by ash turner brought the scores level at 8-all but North Beach full back Ben Lindeguard again restored parity, scoring under the posts half way through the second half.

Dustin Hume increased the lead with seven minutes to go and it proved to be too much of a margin as the Sea Eagles romped home 16-8.
