From all of us here at NRL WA we would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Lyric Ngapera’s family and friends.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Lyric’s death and would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family on behalf of NRL WA and the broader rugby league community. Lyric was a shining light in our game and highly respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was regarded as a beautiful soul who went above and beyond for anyone who needed her.

Lyric’s contributions to the rugby league community of WA go far beyond her playing ability. She was a dedicated and selfless volunteer who poured so much time and effort into our great game and she will be sorely missed. Her roles were many and varied, from being a leader in the NRL WA Women’s team as a player, and also as a coach and trainer. Her contributions will not be forgotten.

Please accept our deepest sympathies at this difficult time. Lyric was a remarkable young woman. Knowing her personally, I am well aware of the difference she made in the lives of many people, both for the rugby league community, and in her private life. Myself and everyone else here at NRL WA share your loss.

I would please urge anyone to please reach out in this difficult time. We are more than just a game.

With sincere sympathy,

Tony Crowe
