WA Rugby League seeking journalists

WA Rugby League is currently seeking talented journalists to write on a pro-bono/volunteer basis for its online and print publications over the course of the 2014 SG Ball Season and the 2014 Smarter than Smoking WARL Premiership.

Ideally, successful applicants should possess:

  • Knowledge of the game.
  • Distinct sports journalism knowledge and style.
  • Commitment to mantra and ethics of the Western Australian Rugby League.
  • Good grammar and spelling skills.
  • The ability to work well in a team.
  • Good vision and the clarity to understand Rugby League play.
  • Passion for Rugby League.

Successful applicants will receive applicable training in secondary applications such as Fox Sports Pulse as well as appropriate accreditation.

Those who are successful may also have the opportunity to have their work regularly showcased in community and mainstream newspapers such as The Sunday Times and The West Australian.

Whilst studying or completed tertiary education is a preferred, it is not a requirement.
